Part of the profit of the batik masks is donated in food to people who need it in Bogor (Java, Indonesia). We believe that we are well taken care of in the Netherlands and want to contribute to our heritage. e are in close contact with a local who we know before she emigrated to Bogor from Amsterdam a few years ago.

She puts together bags with essential food, a so called sembako bag. These bags are filled with essential needs like rice, oil, sugar, canned fish and other
basic food available. Everything is bought local at small warungs and at different warungs so we are able to divide the money equally. The bags used are recycled spin bound and divided amongst people who need it. The first donation we have made were 50 bags just before Ramadan started.

The end of June 2020 we were able to make a larger food donation with considerable larger bags which were divided in a village called Benteng, Java. The village head provided a list with those who needed most. Mostly elderly, orphanage and disabled those who are already struggling to make a living. The larger bags contained once again essentials but enough suplies for a couple of weeks without worrying about food.
